Gregory Hilton Solo Exhibition　Selections 2020/2021

2021.3.30(火)～4.11(日)開廊：12:00~19:00（月曜休廊・最終日17:00まで）

As the title of this show suggests the work has been selected by me personally from recent endeavors in my studio here in Osaka. The coronavirus pandemic situation has, in a strange way inspired me to have the momentum to create new works. I believe that by working everyday new inspiration will come about.
It is an honor to have my third exhibition here at the LADS gallery.

展覧会のタイトルが意味する通り、今展は最近の作品の中から選ばれたものが展示されます。そのセレクションはここ大阪のスタジオで私が個人的に選んだもので、この展覧会を開催するにあたって取り組んだ成果と言えます。 コロナウィルス感染症の大流行が生み出した状況は、不思議な具合に私の感覚に刺激を与えたようで、新しい作品を作る意欲が掻き立てられました。私は新しい着想というのは毎日作業することで得られるものだと信じています。
ここLADS GALLERYで3度目の展覧会ができることを光栄に思います。

1956　Born in Texas, USA
　　　 Studied painting, printmaking, photography and art history at North Texas University
1975　Studied etching at Joan Agib Studio in Vienna, Austria and painting in London
1977　Moved to New York City, worked at Robert Blackburns Printmaking Workshop and Pratt Manhattan Center
1980　Painting and art projects in private studio in Chelsea, West 26th street, New York
2014　Moved to Osaka, Japan. Currently has a studio in Minamihorie, Osaka

1956年　アメリカテキサス州生まれ
絵画、版画、写真、美術史などをノース テキサス大学で学ぶ
1975年　ウィーンのJoan Agib Studioにて銅版画、ロンドンにも渡り絵画を学ぶ
1977年　ニューヨークに移りRobert Blackburns Printmaking Workshop（版画工房）とPratt Manhattan Centerにて制作活動
1980年　ニューヨークのチェルシー地区にある私設のアトリエにて絵画制作とアートプロジェクトに取り組む
2014年　大阪に移り住み、南堀江のアトリエを拠点に活動している
